Main Directions of Scientific Investigations

The major function of RL MSFT according to its technical competence is performing work in the area of materials science and foundry production associated with new molding materials for obtaining cast­ings from ferrous and non-ferrous metals by efficient methods of the foundry sand, quality control and new compositions of the parting coatings for machining attachments, by technologies of obtaining high-quality alloys for various products.

 

Provided Services

Analysis (investigations) of the structure, properties, defects and the defective articles reasons; De­velopment of technological concepts of ferrous alloys obtainment with employment of the intermediate frequency induction furnaces; Individual design development and performing scientific research tasks on request of industrial enterprises.

 

Major Achievements

RL MSFT sustains good connections with the following enterprises: JSC "LMZ Universal" of Soligorsk, JSC "Forge Works of Heavy Press Forming" of Zhodino, Joint Ltd.Co. "Steel-Export" as well as with the following institutes: "Physical-Technical Institute of the National Academy of Science" and "Joint Institute of Machine-Building" of NAS Belarus.

The Research Laboratory co-operates with both the world"s leading foundry companies and the spe­cialized departments of European universities. There belong the following companies: Heinrich-Wagner Sinta" (Japan-Germany), "AVR" (Germany-USA), "Fürtenbach" (Austria), "EGES" (Turkey); universities: the Royal Technological University, (Stockholm, Sweden), the Krakow Mining and Smelting Academy (Po­land), Mining and Smelting Academy (Czechia), Slovak Higher Technical School.

RL MSFT has modern facilities for fundamental and applied investigations: multi-channel spectrome­ter ARL QuantoDesk ("Thermo Fisher Scientific", Swiss); intermediate frequency induction melt complex EM-L135-EGP50; Mixer of periodic action for preparation of moulding mixes; Set of technological equip­ment for preparation of specimens made of sand-resin mixes for Cold-Box-Amin-process. As well there are units for temperature and gas velocity measurements.
