Technology of diffusion hardening of working surfaces with coats

Application: improvement of service life of technological rig due to the saturation of its working surface by the application of boriding and carbonitriding coats.

Advantages: the durability of hardened technological rig is increased in 1.5–4 times. The process can be carried out in any thermal shop.

Key features: the process is carried out due to diffusion of saturating element (boron, aluminum, nitrogen, carbon) from coats into the working surface of technological rig. Two processes of saturation are developed:

Carbonitriding – saturation is performed at temperatures of 500–600 °C for 4–6 hours, the layer thickness to 0.3 mm.

Boriding – saturation is performed at temperatures of 850–1050 °C for 2–4 hours, the layer thickness to 0.1 mm.
