Technology of bipolar microarc oxidation of titanium and titanium alloys products

Application: development of oxide biocompatible coatings on implants with high corrosion resistant used in traumatology, prosthetic dentistry, oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Advantages: the developed technology is based on a combination of anodic and cathodic modes of oxidation which results in obtaining higher quality coating with high biological compatibility. The change of the ratio and duration of anode and cathode pulses provides monitoring and control of coat­ing features in a wider range compared to anodic oxidation.

Key features: electrolytes – aqueous solutions of salts with a concentration of 0.5–1.5 %; electrolyte temperature – 20–60 °С; duration of positive and negative pulses – 1–10 ms; the amplitude of the pulses – up to 520 V.
