Filters trap for blood clots

Application: implantation in the lumen of the inferior vena cava to trap blood clots carried by blood­stream.

Advantages: reliable fixation inside the veins, effective filtration of clinically significant emboli, does not create a significant obstacle to blood flow; flexible device that ensures smooth and easy entry to the place, it is easy to be released from the delivery system; optimum stability and protection of cava filter from displacements; low risk of perforation of the vessel wall.

Key features: cava filter does not affect the risk of blood clots, pulmonary embolism prevents blood clots break away (usually cava filters are used when other treatments, such as anticoagulant drugs are not effective); cava filter is made of nitinol that does not cause chemical and allergic reactions in contact with human vascular tissue.
