Design of gas heating semi-methodic furnace

Application: heating billets before forging (stamping).

Advantages: reduce energy consumption by 30–50 % in comparison with the existing design of the furnace; reduction of time of entering the operating mode after downtime in 2–3 times; reduced oper­ating costs by increasing turnaround time and reducing time of furnace repair; high accuracy realization of the temperature regime through the use of modern automated process control system; minimization of metal losses with the slag by maintaining the required pressure in the furnace and optimum ratio «fuel–air» during fuel combustion; reduction of emissions of greenhouse gases (CO2 and H2O) and nitro­gen oxides (NOx) through the use of regenerative burners.

Key features: the efficiency of the furnace is not less than 50 %; use in the construction of the lining modern fibrous materials and porous heat-resistant concrete (the composition of the materials and de­sign of the lining is determined by solving the optimization problem); the use of modern burner units that provide heating combustion air up to 600–650 °C; high quality heat treatment of parts through the exact observance of technological rules that is provided by modern control systems.
