Bipolar pulsed electrochemical machining of metallic materials

Application: polishing, cleaning and surface preparation of parts for the deposition of coatings.

Advantages: the use of pulsed bipolar modes during electrochemical machining provides reduced energy costs for the polishing process and surfaces cleaning compared to the treatment with direct cur­rent by increasing the speed of smoothing of microroughnesses of the processed surface at low metal removal rates. Processing is performed in cold electrolytes without the addition of chromic anhydride, which can significantly reduce the harm caused to the environment and production staff.

Key features: voltage: ±2–20 V, current density: 0.3–2.0 А/sm2, electrolyte temperature: 20–40 °С, pulse duration: 0.2–20.0 ms.
